Guruji S.S. Iyer, an ardent follower of Ramana Maharishi, learned Vedas and related scriptures in the Gurukul system.
Realizing the potential values of Vedas in changing a person's life in all areas of Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha, he took an oath to teach Vedas to people. During the last two decades, nearly hundreds of people from India and abroad have been encouraged into the Vedic way of life.
Guruji started teaching Vedas in his own house in Dombivli since 1992.
Starting with a group of 8 students, he taught the basics through which a person could become a Sadhaka. The classes were conducted on every alternate day and slowly started building the Arunalaya Community.
Guruji not only wanted his disciples to take part in the religious events but also their families and friends to be a part of it, he started conducting "Rudra Ekadashini" every year since 1995.
Under his guidance Arunalaya had a Maharudram in 2004 and a Athirudram in 2009. He was the man who not only thought about Vedas but also about helping the deserved, he started the council forum where members contribute their share on monthly basis.
The same has been utilised in many ways to the deserved ones through distribution of note books, financial assistance towards education fees, medical, marriages and so on. With his blessings these activities are being continued by his disciples.
